Un petit dodo spécial

Purpose: Showing what happens before, during and after an anaesthetic to help ease children’s anxiety before they have an operation. This commission is a translation and adaption from our film 'A Little Deep Sleep' for use at Montreal Children's Hospital in Canada.

Outcome: At the Montreal Children’s Hospital Pre Operative Clinic, where over 4,500 patients are seen each year, children and their families are invited to watch a bilingual animated preparation video. This resource is shared with patients and caregivers as part of their preparation for an upcoming surgery, helping families begin to familiarize themselves with the hospital experience ahead of time.

Feedback:

My daughter Mia and our family were so grateful to have access to the video before her surgery. Watching it together helped make the experience feel much less intimidating and gave Mia a clearer understanding of what to expect at the hospital. It was incredibly reassuring for all of us.

After her surgery, Mia was even excited to share the video with her classmates so she could show them what her hospital experience was like. It gave her a sense of pride and helped her talk about her experience in a positive and confident way.

Client: This adaptation was a collaboration with staff and children at Montreal Children's Hospital, funded by the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.  The original film was made in with staff, children and the sounds recorded on location at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, and funded by The Grand Appeal Charity.
