Teeth
Client: Dr Lucas at the School for Policy Studies, University of Bristol.
Purpose: Despite improvements in dental health, too many children are having teeth extracted because of decay, often under general anaesthetic in hospital. This is distressing for families and expensive for the NHS, with children from disadvantaged communities most at risk. The University of Bristol led collaborative research that paved the way for targeted prevention by understanding local inequalities in children’s dental health.
Outcome: a set of postcards to engage the public and ease concerns about visiting a dentist.
